Anita Holford, copywriting and communications for music, arts, charities

I've been working with the Changing Tracks team on a freelance basis since November 2019. I help the team and the music services they work with to communicate what they're learning about the steps to becoming inclusive. We do this through blogs, videos, infographics, downloadable resources, talks and presentations, partner websites, an enewsletter, and many other forms of communication.

In the rest of my week, I'm a communications practitioner, consultant and copywriter trading as Writing Services. I help music organisations with a social or educational purpose to communicate their value and impact, break down barriers to what they do, sell their services.

I work with people making change through music and the arts - mainly in education; community, outreach and participation; and through health and wellbeing. Music is central to my own life, and I know what an impact it can have on others. That's why I'm so committed to working with others to break down barriers to music.

I've worked with national organisations such as Youth Music (most recently providing strategic advice and co-ordination for the Alliance for a Musically Inclusive England); local/regional music education hubs such as Wiltshire Music Connect; community music organisations such as The Music Works (where I was comms and evaluation lead, as well as managing their education programme for three years), and many other music, arts and creative organisations, as well as small charities.

I write an 'advice and resources' blog, host the Music for Education & Wellbeing podcast, and run the Music Education Works website.
